Makeup items are essential for every first-year college student. Every college fresher should have makeup items necessary for them but it shouldn’t be that complicated.
MY FIRST-YEAR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE.
When I was preparing to resume school as a freshman I was so excited, beside the stress of going to classes, who doesn’t get excited about every other college stuff? Everyone right?
As I prepare for college, I made a full list of make items to buy, not considering if they were essential or necessary. I thought to myself “I’m going to be doing hot make to class” I honestly don’t know what I was thinking cos girl! Not once did I wear makeup to class. I did not even have time for makeup anymore and at a point, I totally fell out of love with makeup.
So all of my makeup products which I spent a lot of money to buy got wasted in the end they were disposed and some were given out. The moral of the story buy just what you need. Without further ado let’s get into the basic makeup essentials for every first-year college student.
5 MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS FOR FIRST-YEAR COLLEGE STUDENTS.
1. BROWN OR BLACK LIPLINER
This is a must-have for every girl. You can’t miss it with a brown or black lip liner. With these options, you can look simple and classy at the same time with ease. There are also other things you can do with a liner pencil, they can be used for the brows, as an eyeliner, and also improvised as eye shadow.
Hence, They are multipurpose and elevate your appearance while using less. My favorite is actually a brown lip liner, it works best for my skin tone, giving me that naturally defined plump lip. So, if you’re a college freshman or just any girl, get yourself a brown lip liner.
2. A NUDE LIPSTICK
The second on the list is nude lipstick. Nude lipstick can work well with anything or any outfit. You can have other lip shades but I strongly recommend having nude lipstick. Since you’re gonna be going to class, wearing flashy colored lips all the time may not be ideal.
Nude lip colors are ideal for minimalist makeup looks while still looking bomb. So, find a nude color that matches your skin tone and you’re good.
3. A LIPGLOSS
This is by far the most essential item for me. I can’t stand dry chapped lips, the feeling of my lips being dry is so uncomfortable so I always have a good lip gloss or lip balm with me all day long. Lip gloss is very essential for every college student, they are easy to apply and carry around, and they keep your lip protected, soft supple, and plump.
4. FOUNDATION STICK.
Foundation as the name implies is a makeup item used at the beginning of a makeup routine to cover blemishes and skin imperfections. Foundation stick is an essential item for college students because they are easy to blend, use, and will give that effortless natural look. They can be used as spot or circle correctors.
So as a student if you do not want to go for full face coverage, you can apply for specific spots and areas you want to cover and go.
5. A MASCARA
Mascara is a great product to lengthen and give volume to your lashes. As a student who likes to have full lashes, and may not have time to do their lashes all the time, mascara is a great option to always uplift your face and natural lashes.

FINAL THOUGHTS
During my freshman year, I carried too much unnecessary load that ended up regretting it. These are just the basic essentials I feel, you’ll need. If you feel you’ll need or can handle more makeup items, then you take what is necessary and convenient for you.
Enjoy your freshman year and the rest of your time in college.
